  • How can an integrated HRIS transform HR? (Tansley et.al. 2001)

  • What is the difference between 'automate' and 'informate' in relation to HRIS data/information? Why would you want to 'informate' rather than merely 'automate'? (Tansley et.al. 2001)

  • Compare the team leadership styles of Shauna and Nick, relating this to team performance and/or project outcomes. (Tansley & Newell 2007)

  • Learning about the technology is a critical success factor in implementing an HRIS. Why was Shauna more successful than Nick in developing HRIS knowledge and skills? (Tansley & Newell 2007)

I think the reason Shauna more successful that she apply her knowledge and ability to integrate functional and IS knowledge with the development of competence trust in the context of building social capital for project success. In contray to Nick, he does not have engouh knowledge in the HR process, he also wants to take advantage of the training.

In addition, she recurit the people with hybrid functional and IS knowledge, however, Nick only hire the people with the HR knowledge.

To sum up, the technology in the HRIS impelementation is the combination of functional and IS knowledgethat means HRIS is the HR and the IS combination. Without developing these two knowledge together will easily fail the project.

  • There were more difficulties implementing an enterprise system in University A than University B. Discuss why. (Dong 2008)

  • Discuss the importance value of top management support in implementing an enterprise system. (Dong 2008)

  • If you have been involved in or have observed an IS implementation, discuss your experiences, particularly in relation to the questions you answered. Why was the implementation successful/unsuccessful? What could have been improved? Etc.
