Many organisations provide
I tend to believe that providing a professional mentoring service to the new graduate or employees contribute to their career in ICT. This is partly due to the fact that new graduate or employees confuse about their first job or first career in their new company. Also, new graduate may not have a clear perspective about their career until they get into the company or work in a specific area. Especially, ICT has a broad range of skills nowadays. Therefore, offering a mentoring program helps individual get themselves familiar with the company they work with. Besides, they can learn their skills through their mentors and learn their career development by talking with their mentors. Take myself for example, when I studied at Victoria University, the career centre offered an IBM mentoring program which helped us to understand our career better and fixed our resume based on their professional experience. I found this program very useful because IBM is a good ICT company. It is worth to learn from talent or your mentors by going through their career experience or technical. In terms of technical development, I also think mentors play a key role in helping new graduates out from the project, because they may not have adequate technical experience in commercial environment.
